Formerly home of the Bank of England's Scottish headquarters, this stunning Brasserie brings a new air of elegance to the city. The refurbished building provides a unique atmosphere where traditional cornicing and wood panels meet the contemporary design of a buzzing bar and restaurant. Within months of opening the restaurant was awarded 2 AA rosettes – a coveted accolade rewarding excellence, innovation and great technical skills together with consistency and judgement in combining and balancing quality ingredients.
Executive Chef and co-owner Derek Marshall heads up the kitchen with a menu featuring the best of classic style dishes presented in his own inimitable contemporary style. The menu focuses on seasonal and, wherever possible, locally sourced products. Typical dishes includes simply grilled lemon sole with citrus crème fraiche; saddle of venison with port wine gravy, buttery mash; Granny Smith apple and pumpkin ravioli with parmesan cheese and dressed leaves followed by decadent desserts; brie de meaux, roquefort & keens cheddar; valrhona chocolate tart with caramel ice-cream and champagne and blueberry jelly with vanilla yogurt.
The first class wine and champagne bar offering over 110 different wines awaits whether for casual drinks or pre/post dining in the brasserie.
